Headache, Migraine, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Supraorbital Neuralgia, Vertigo, Intracranial Tumours, Brain abscess are diseases of head according to Ayurveda.

Causes of the head diseases are :

1. The suppression of natural urges
2. Awakening at night and sleeping at day time 
3. Addiction of narcotics
4. Speaking aloud,
5. Exposure to frost and direct easterly wind,
6. Excessive sexual activities 
7. Inhalation of undesirable smell,
8. Extensively exposure to dust, smoke, snowfall and sun
9. Intake of heavy food regularly and more in quantity 
10. Sour ,spicy food regularly and more in quantity 
11. Excessive drinking /and bathing with chilled water,
12. Injury to the head,
13. Formation of vitiatiated  digestive enzymes, Ama, 
14. Weeping 
15. Suppression of  tears
16. Cloudy weather 
17. Anguish 

Following food and lifestyle which is  in contrast to the locality and season.

• Due to these causes, Vata Pitta  etc dosha, get aggravated. 
• These aggravated dosha results in the vitiation of Rakta Dhatu (blood tissue-vessels) in the head.
• Head diseases  occur after vitiation of Raktadhatu of the head.
