LIFESTYLE AND FOOD HABITS IN SUMMER ACCORDING TO AYURVEDA

उन्हाळ्यात कसा आहार व विहार असावा ह्याचे नियम आयुर्वेदात सांगीतले आहेत. त्यालाच ग्रीष्म ऋतुचर्या म्हणतात. 
उन्हाळ्यात हवा अतिशय गरम व कोरडी असते त्याचा शरीरावर परिणाम होऊन वाताचे व पित्ताचे आजार होतात. ते होऊ नये व प्रतीकारशक्ती चांगली राहावी ह्यासाठी ग्रीष्म ऋतुचर्या सांगितली आहे. 

LIFESTYLES AND FOOD HABITS IN SUMMER :-
  1. Avoid use of salt, pungent and sour foods, 
  2. Avoid heavy physical exercises and exposure to sunlight
  3. Avoid Wine 
  4. Eat food which are sweet, light (easy to digest), fatty, cold and  liquid should be taken. For example Rava Khir,Shevae khir ,puddings
  5. Eat boiled rice, which is white in color, along with meat of animals of desert area 
  6. Meat soup is good 
  7. Eat Shreekhanda (श्रीखंड/रसाला) 
  8. Drink soup or syrup made from Badar/ बेर/बोर(Ziziphus mauritiana)  
  9. Panaka panchasara.  - - syrup prepared with raisins (draksha), madhuka, dates (karjura), kasmarya, and parushaka fruits all in equal quantities, cooled and added with powder of cinnamon leaves, cinnamon and cardamom etc. and kept inside a fresh mud pot, along with leaves of plantain and coconut trees, and  made sour (fermented) should be drunk in mugs of mud or shell;
  10. Drink Panak/पन्हे prepared with unripe mango
  11. Cool water kept in mud pot along with flowers of patala (पाटला) and camphor (कापूर) should be used for drinking.
  12. Buffalo milk mixed with sugar and cooled is good for drinking 
  13. Day time should be spent in cool, sweet scented place or  at home to protect from hot rays of sun.  
  14. At night one should sleep on soft comfortable bed, wearing very thin and light dresses. Apply paste of sandalwood on the body. Should sleep in the pleasant place which is surrounded by scented  cool air.
