Regimen of diet according to Ayurveda (भोजन करण्याचे आयुर्वेदोक्त नियम)

1) काले – Food should be taken at the proper time,

2)   सात्म्ये-food should be familial, acceptable 

3) शुचि – it should be clean

4) हितं -good for health

5) स्निग्ध,उष्ण,लघु – unctuous, hot and easily digestible

6) तन्मना – consume food with attention, presence of mind

7) षड्रसं मधुरप्रायं-   – should contain all the six tastes predominance of sweet taste

 8) अतिद्रुतविलंबितं- food should eat  neither very quickly nor very slowly

9)स्नात क्षुव्दान्- food should eat after taking bath and  having good hunger,

10) विविक्तस्थो-sitting in peaceful and quiet place

11)धौतपादकरानन – Take food after washing the feet, hands and face,

12)तर्पयित्वा पितृन देवानं अतिथीन् बालकांवर गुरून्

 after satisfying the  manes , gods, guests, children and teachers 

13)प्रत्यवेक्ष्य तिरश्चो S पि -

food should be taken after satisfying  the dependents  in the house ,pet animals and birds as their needs and likings

14) समीक्ष्य सम्यगात्मानमनिन्दन्नब्रुवन् द्रवम्-

Eat healthy food , without abusing the food, without too much of talk. Food should contain more of liquid .

15) इष्टमिष्टै:theसहाश्नीयाच्छुचिभक्तजनाहृतम्- 

Eat fevorite and healthy food in the company of the liked persons, and served by those who are clean and faithful  .
