*** INFERTILITY DUE TO TRAPPED EGG SYNDROME and IT’S  AYURVEDIC TREATMENT******

 - In normal menstrual cycle of 28-30days, usually ovulation occurs on 12th-14th  day of menstruation. 

“Ovulation is the release of ovum (egg)from the  ovarian follicle. After ovulation ,follicle convert into corpus luteum.”

-Then ovum(egg) travels through fallopian tubes .If sperms are available, then fertilization occurs and if sperms are not there then no fertilisation and menstruation  occurs .

**What Happens in Trapped Egg Syndrome?

1)-  The ovum develops within the follicle quite normally and then the follicle turns into the corpus luteum with out ovulation.(ovum remains inside the follicle)

2)-In this condition all hormonal are normal but follicle never ruptures and the ovum does not released from the ovary.

3)-Here LH surge is normal but the follicular surface fails to dissolve and release the ovum.

4)-The ovum( egg )matures fully or partially inside the ovary but is never released therfore it is called trapped egg syndrome,-

5)-The follicle continues to develop and convert into the corpus luteum without releasing ovum.

-It is also called as luteinized  unruptured follicle syndrome(LUFS) /Trapped egg Syndrome.

* **Causes of Trapped egg Syndrome/ LUFS:-***

• It occurs more frequently in women taking modern medicine for fertility(pregnancy).

• Also it is commonly seen in patients suffering from PCOD & Endometriosis

• It is also occurs in women who have had Pelvic inflammatory disease

• . NSAID use: -women taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for pain

****Sign and Symptoms of  Trapped egg Syndrome/LUFS:-

1)It does not show any signs & symptoms.

2)There is only failure to conceive, however having regular menstrual cycle

3)It is ‘silent’problem and hormones are being  produced normal

4)All signs of ovulation occurs as in ovulatory cycle which are:-

a) biphasic basal body temperature curves, b)secretory endometrium,

 c)laboratory evidence of progesterone production in urine after ovulation

d)  elevated plasma progesterone levels at normal range after ovulation

e)absence of a corpus hemorrhagicum by sonography /laparoscopy 

*********Diagnosis of LUFS :-***

-Clinical manifestation is :-

The patient suffering from unexplained infertility , however having normal regular menstrual cycle.

-It is diagnosed by Ultra Sonography  during ovulation study 

***Treatment in Modern Medicine:-********

Inj.HCG is indicated.

But there is the  tendency of reccurance.

Sometimes even Inj HCG also does not work.

Also it does not solve the root cause.

*******AYURVEDIC TREATMENT FOR Trapped egg syndrome/ LUFS:

**In Ayurveda this condition can be correlate with Shukragata Vata.

-Vata stands for proliferation and division of cells (granulosa and theca cells), rupture of the follicle and release of ovum.

- Acharya Kashyapa has described Bahirpushpa and Antahpushpa

-Bahirpushpa means monthly menstrual discharge of  blood during menstrual cycle and  Antahpushpa means  ovum.

-Vata has major role in physiology and pathology of reproductive system

-In LUFS ,all hormones are in normal state.There is difficulty /abnormality in release of ovum only.

-In LUFS Bahirpushpa is normal because periods are regular ,hormones are in normal range and Antahpushpa(ovum) is trapped in the Ovary.

-In Shukragata Vitiated Vata,there is  obstruction of Shukra. Shukra (ovum)is trapped. अ.हृ.नि.15/13 च.सं.चि.28/34

- There is  Shukra Awega ( no ovulation) and absence of pregnancy.  अ.हृ.नि.16/38,च.सं.चि.28/68

*******TREATMENT:-******

1)In Shukragata Vata is:-Virechan should be given to remove obstruction and after that the treatment to strengthen the strength of Shukra should be given (Vajeekaran Treatment) च.सं.चि. 28/94-95...lअ.हृ.चि.21/20

2) Practically we give  Yerand tail (एरंड तेल)40 ml once in a week for one month 

3) Uttarbasti with Guduchyadi Tail/Sahacharyadi Tail/Dashmul  Tail/Mahanarayan Tail /Phalagreeta etc.for three cycles

****Medicines by oral route:-

 1  )Pushpadhanva Ras( पुष्पधन्वा  रस)Mahayagraj Guggul and Bangalore Bhasma (महायोगराज गुग्गुळ +वंग भस्म),Sarivadi Vati(सारिवादि वटी), Shukramatruka Vati  (शुक्रमातृका  वटी), Narsimha Churna (नारसिंह चूर्ण)are useful.

2) Aawal(आवळा),  Triphala(त्रिफळा),Shahajeerak(शहाजिरक) Jeerak(जिरकं) ,Latakaranj Beeja(लताकरंज बीज ),Apamarga(अपामार्ग),Masha(माष) Shatapushpa(शतपुष्पा),Samudraphen (समुद्रफेन),Sheelajeet( शिलाजित) are useful.

3) Ashwagandha(अश्वगंधा),Vidarikanda day(विदारीकंद), Misaki(मुसळी ), these type of aphrodisiac ayurvedic medicines cooked  with the Indian cow milk (देशी गाईचे दुध) is useful.

4)Avoidance of junk food, preserved food,dry,salty,heavy,sour food

5)Eating organic food (सेंद्रिय अन्न) as possible

6) Following Ayurvedic daily regimen (दिनचर्या) , and taking care of natural urges. to avoid vitiation of Vata(Apana Vata-अपान वात)

By following Ayurvedic Principles of treatment this Syndrome is treatable ,and pregnancy occurs by natural way.
